Measure your desk before choosing an organizer
A simple way to compare an organizer with the space and objects already on your desk.

Start with the things you reach for every day. Put them on your desk in small groups: writing tools, loose cables, notes and items you only use occasionally. This gives you a clearer idea of what an organizer needs to hold.
Mark the available footprint
Measure the width and depth of the area you want to use. Make a paper rectangle with the dimensions shown in the product listing and place it there. Check that you can still open a drawer, move your mouse and reach nearby switches.
Check the objects as well as the desk
- Measure the widest part of an object that needs to fit into a slot.
- Allow room to pick the object up without moving everything beside it.
- Read the listing for internal dimensions; outside dimensions alone do not establish the size of a compartment.
Keep the paper footprint in place for a working session. A layout that looks tidy should also be comfortable to use. When dimensions are missing, ask about them before making a choice.
